I teach yoga because I need yoga to remind me daily what it means to be embodied. The many hours I’ve spend confused and frustrated inside this practice is very slowly being alchemized into my greatest asset as a teacher. I’m a reluctant extrovert, interested in self-awareness, agency, and the vulnerability required to reveal ourselves to ourselves through the penetrating lens of asana. After almost a decade of practice, I’m still trying to figure out what yoga is and what it means to me- mostly, by refining my understanding of what it’s not. For better or worse, I feel married to this lifelong exploration of self and am willing to share, with fellow students, what I’ve learned along the way.
